The Concept
The Exodus is a Draenei only, Role-play oriented guild forming with the Burning Crusade and aiming to create a tight-knot community of players to enjoy various aspects of the game in the band of like-minded people. The Role-play focus is around playing out strangers to the world, and slowly exploring and understanding it, thus changing the guild and the characters. The base Concept is just the fundament, as we evolve some values and visions might be developed, and guild will grow on itself as ever-evolving whole. A little spoiler, there is a plan to create a degree of inner conflict and tension, as it provides for so much great RP. The Exodus also aims to establish a new “segment” in RP world, giving addition to Stormwind-based Role-play, hopefully turning Exodar and Darnassus into centers of Role-play.
Why should I pick a not-yet-formed guild over an old one, with good reputation and structure?
At first, joining an established guild would mean you coming together with people you do not know (so well), but who know each other. Older guilds have already established structure and code of conduct you might or might not like. The Exodus offers completely equal chances, and a chance to meet new people and start up a community from scratch, a fresh start with no prejudices or pre-formed formations. A new guild also offers you a chance to let loose your imagination and abilities to undertake, leaving your own mark on it- making it a guild YOU built, you worked for and you are proud of.
What is will be the structure?
As the game begins, let us call it Day 0, the guild will have no obvious structure and no evident officers. As characters evolve, some structure will occur. I do not expect to get a large amount of members, so it is likely core members will get custom guild ranks should so they desire.
So structure in the beginning could be described like this:
Guild Leader
Custom Ranks (from which some people might get some executive(officer) powers)
Recruits
PS: this is to change if the guild grows large (10+ active members)
Please, elaborate on concept…how can ever-changing guild be better than the one which offers stability?
As we play together, and role-play together the changes will not happen in direction members do not like, rather in the direction they DO like. I’ve played WoW for quite some time, and can tell that some guilds “die out”, they are no longer fun, no longer able to come up with innovative ideas due to a stoic concept. As evolving guild, Exodus should avoid such fate remaining interesting and fun to its members for far longer time.
Old Version of the Concept
Where is the Guild based?
Defias Brotherhood server.
What is the Concept?
The Exodus is foremost a little community aiming to increase the fun output of playing together. It is the Draenei Only, full Role-playing guild. OOC we should try to create friendly community, to enjoy RPing and instancing, leveling together. RPlay wise, The Exodus will be a second home to some of the survivors, as in hard times cooperation is imperative for survival. Character and guild development are essential to the concept, as Draenei are strangers to this world, it will be great fun exploring and understanding it, becoming part of it. And playing out, how the character would be influenced by the world. Naturally, you are free to RPlay the way you like, and do what you think is right with your character. Different people are what make awesome RP.
What might be the guild activities?
Naturally, as all members know each other and are friends, comrades or just stick together to sake of survival we will have meetings, where we can share our experiences and Role-Play together. The Guild will also conduct IC exploration of the new world; imagine sailing to Darkshore for the first time, not speaking a word common. Having to use Lore(addon allowing you to speak custom languages) to communicate with others. Or...even, going into Stormwind for the first time… Naturally, as we progress the need might come for RP events aiming for specific goal, or even PvP events. The guild will progress together with it’s members.
How is the Leadership organized?
Nothing too complex, a Guildmaster, officers, initiates and members (may be veteran members) OOC, officers and guildmaster will try to keep the guild enjoyable. IC, there won’t be that much leadership: all have their talents, and all contribute them for common cause. As guild progresses, more strict leadership might occur. I would really like to see the guild where every member contributes to the whole, and where officers are not really needed OOC wise, but that’s too good to be true.
Is the Guild Chat IC?
Yes and no. officer chat is open for everybody. /g is used for out of character talk, /o is used for in-character communication.
Good, Characters evolve: will the Exodus change as well?
Naturally, as our character’s view change, so will the guild. If we all agree, the concept can even change a bit – we can develop a common Goal. Possibilities are endless, and it would be fun to see where they take us.
What are the aims, out of character?
First and most, enjoy the new dimension of Role-play. I also aim into created a tight-knot community of friends. We can level together, run few instances. Role-play will naturally take large deal of time together. And very important, elves were meant to be Mystic and enigmatic, now most of them hang out in Stormwind, dressing and behaving human. I would like Draenei to evade such an ill fate, the Exodus will try to focus RP in Exodar, so that at least Draenei stay where they belong, and don’t go into Stormwind Full-time. Naturally, we can and will RPlay outside Exodar, and in Stormwind – but hanging there all the time, is quite sad. I really hope Draenei and Night Elves can generate a lot of fun Role Play in northern Kalimdor and Exodar\Darnassus. Creating second Dimension to Stormwind and it’s old classical RP of Stormwind Council and the Dark Sphere.
End-Game? Not as primary Guild activity, due to concept and high standards I do not expect to get big, so only viable solution is in a raiding alliance: but then I would ask around 2 raids a week. Too much precious evening time is getting stolen from The Holy Role-Play.
What are the rules and Standards?
[1] No sci-fi fun in names, or during RP events. I will make short work of all Picards and ex-pilots of USS Holy Light. Do not anger me…
[2] I do not force anybody to RPlay this way, but keep in mind that Draenei should not be speaking common from the beginning, but feel free to choose for yourself.
[3] You should have passion for RP and character Development, otherwise you would not enjoy your time in guild and we all don’t want that.
[4]You have to behave decently OOC (IC you can be as mad as a hatter), so no insults and hard words. No conflicts between Guild members.
[5]The usual, don’t ninja don’t corpse-camp, don’t gank same person 5 times in a row..
[6] Naturally, obeying RP policies of the realm.
[7] Don’t God-Emote or Metagame.
[8] Draenei are ancient and wise, yet, do not RP gods, demi gods and overpowered Characters, please.
[9] Role-play is central, thus when guild event is scheduled it is rude to stay in Battlegrounds to grind honor, or go to instance. I know, sometimes you don’t feel like RP and that is ok, but don’t do it ALL the time.
[10] You must be ready and are expected to take initiative, sometimes make Role-Play and even organize events. Solo-Roleplay is also HIGHLY appreciated. (it means, when you Role-play on your own without support of whole guild, or just a few guild-mates)
[11] Be sure you accept that levels do NOT exist in role-play, and emote-duels are better than actual Duels. Just in case.
[12] You do NOT have to possess tremendous skill or experience in Rore-playing, I for instance am more than ready to teach and help you increase your skill. As long as you have desire to learn, you are free to join.

How do I join?
Come to forums, register, and post in Character section. When the game goes live, join channel “exodus” after creating your character (Type: /join exodus). When TBC goes live, recruitment will mostly happen in-game.
